Vacancy: Help shape the future of the Brabantsedag as our secretary

The Brabantsedag is the largest theatre parade of the year. On the last Sunday of August, more than 40,000 visitors come to Heeze to experience spectacular theatre floats, thousands of performers and sixteen float-building groups. Behind this event is a dedicated team of volunteers who work together throughout the year with one shared goal: creating a Brabantsedag that participants, visitors and volunteers can all be proud of.

We are looking for a volunteer secretary to join our board—someone who enjoys creating structure, keeping an overview and helping shape the future of the Brabantsedag.

As secretary, you will be a member of both the executive and general board. Together with eight fellow board members, you will help lead the organisation and ensure that board decisions are translated into clear actions.

What will you do?

• Prepare board meetings and produce clear minutes.
• Monitor agreed actions and follow up on board decisions.
• Coordinate the secretariat team and support the volunteers involved.
• Ensure that governance and administrative processes are carried out carefully and effectively.
• Maintain contact with committees, government bodies and partner organisations.
• Contribute to the continued development and professionalisation of the Brabantsedag.

Who are we looking for?

You don't need to be an experienced secretary. More important is that you enjoy keeping things organised and making sure agreements are followed through.

We're looking for someone who:

• brings structure and maintains an overview;
• works accurately and takes responsibility;
• communicates well with volunteers, committees and fellow board members;
• quickly understands governance and organisational matters;
• has an affinity with culture, events and volunteer organisations.

Time commitment

On average, this role requires four to six hours per week. The work is flexible and can largely be scheduled around your availability.

Board members are appointed for a four-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
